Michigan Works Centers are designed to be a quick, easy-to-use option for matching job seeker skills and experience with employer needs to produce satisfied customers on both ends of the spectrum.

Providing individualized, self-paced (but certified teacher-guided) instruction to help you reach your education goals quickly and effectively. Both Basic Skills and Computer classes are available.

Economic Development

Small Business Center
Providing small business assistance through its designation as a Michigan Small Business and Technology Development Satellite Center, covering southeast Wayne County. We offer a special start-up business seminar called "How to Start a Business: From Vision to Reality". This seminar addresses all the questions a new entrepreneur has about getting started.

Procurement & Exporting
Providing the business community an opportunity to enter the government marketing arena, translating into the creation or retention of hundreds of jobs. In addition, exporting continues to increase as global marketing becomes an integral part of business.

Michigan Small Business and Technology Development Center (MI-SBDC) Services
Providing a full range of services for a variety of small businesses that are emerging and growing throughout Michigan - new venture companies, existing small businesses, expanding businesses, new technology companies, and innovators. The MI-SBDC provides quality counsel, training and market research capabilities. All services are available at low or no cost.

Providing assistance through roof, furnace and sidewall replacement, and attic insulation installation, as well as other energy saving methods. Education workshops on energy saving techniques are provided.


Providing service that is demand driven, responsive to need, and focused on serving the most vulnerable populations. Our fleet consists of six vehicles, all equipped with wheelchair lifts to accommodate disabled/wheelchair-bound passengers.
